Troon Links Winter Maintenance Update

As we approach the end of winter we would like to highlight some general work carried out by our greenkeeping staff at Troon Links.

DARLEY

Many of you will have had the opportunity to see the extensive work being carried out by KimberGlenn, on Darley focusing on the 5th, 9th, 10th and 11th holes. Over the past 4 weeks, they have created three new tees, undertaken substantial management of areas of dense gorse and heather as well as creating a new, safe route for members of the public to cross the golf course without impacting on play in this area. They have also created a new crossing on the 10th hole and removed the existing structures.

KimberGlenn are due to return around mid-March once ground temperatures has risen sufficiently to hydro-seed. Over the coming months you will see natural waste areas and sand blowouts emerge, creating a landscape more in keeping with a links golf course.

We will provide further updates on these significant course improvements in the coming months and look forward to welcoming current and new members back, as well as visitors, when COVID protection levels allow.
