All Golf Memberships are issued subject to:

1. The holder complying with and agreeing to abide by the General Rules and any additional measures applicable to Golf South Ayrshire Courses, this includes all rules relating to booking and play on all Golf South Ayrshire facilities. Breach of any of these rules may result in the forfeiture of your membership.
2. The council may from time to time have to close a course or part of a course, as a result of circumstances out with its control. The council also reserves the right to close a course for any such event or competition as they may fix. The council also reserves the right to close a course for essential maintenance at any time.
3. Players clearly under the influence of alcohol will be asked to leave. Players arriving under the influence of alcohol will not be permitted on the courses.
4. No unsupervised golf for children under eight years old.
5. Foul and or abusive language will not be tolerated towards any member of staff, or any other person on the golf courses or in the clubhouses.
6. All Golf Members are expected to uphold the spirit of the game at all times.
7. Your personal and contact details must be correct at all times. You must notify us of any changes. Please see our privacy statement to find out how we will store and use your information.
8. Your membership is available for your chosen courses only.
9. All memberships are valid from 1st April to 31st March.
10. A membership is not transferable and must only be used by the named person.


1. Flexi-Membership points purchased must be redeemed by 31st March. Any unused points will forfeited beyond this date.
2. The points cost per round may be subject to change, depending on day, time and demand.
3. Points are only valid for the location for which they are purchased, they are non-transferrable to another location.


1. All rounds of golf must be pre-booked either online, on the phone or in person.
2. All games must commence from the 1st tee and on their allotted tee time.
3. Each player must have a golf bag with a minimum of four clubs. One of which must be a putter.
4. All trolleys must be kept off the tees, greens and putting surfaces at all times. Trolleys are not permitted in areas marked as GUR.
5. Golf bags are permitted on the tees, however they must be kept off the greens and putting surfaces at all times.
6. Four players is the maximum allowed for each match.
7. Play will be under the rules of Golf as prescribed by the R & A, Local Course rules and any instructions issued by the golf course Starters and Marshals.
8. Single Players have no status on the golf course and must give way to 2, 3 and 4-ball matches at all times.
9. Single Players must not play more than one ball unless there is a clear hole in front of and behind them, in any case single players must not play any more than 2 golf balls.
10. No practising on courses is permitted at any time.
11. Golf greens must not be used as practice putting or chipping greens.
12. Always wait until the players in front are out of range before play
13. Switch mobile telephones off or onto silent when playing.
14. Players failing to comply may be denied future use of South Ayrshire Council’s golf facilities.


1. We operate a relaxed dress code throughout our facilities; however we ask that all golfers wear appropriate clothing for the sport/weather.
2. Football colours and the removal of t-shirts is not permitted at any time on the course or in a public area of the clubhouse.
3. Our clubhouse may be spike friendly, please check with a member of staff before entering.
4. For your own safety, we recommend that appropriate golf shoes are worn whilst playing. Footwear should not damage the putting surface. Golf shoes are preferred although trainers are permitted.


1. As a Member, you may book a tee time up to 10 days in advance depending on which category of member you are. Seasonal Variations may also apply.
2. Online bookings may be made from 9pm up to 10 days in advance. Telephone bookings may be made Monday – Friday between 9am and 12noon.
3. If booking online, you may need to register and additional booking rules may apply. Please check booking terms and conditions when you are booking a tee time.
4. When booking in person or by phone you will need your membership ID number.
5. Each Member may only book one tee time per day.


1. Players must play at their allocated tee time. Failure to do so may result in being asked to leave the course or wait until their allocated slot is due.
2. Before play all players must report to the Starter. You may be requested by a member of staff to confirm your identity.
3. Commencement of play is at the discretion of the starter.
4. If for any reason you are unable to make your tee time, you must cancel your tee time. This allows someone else to use it if you no longer intend to do so. No shows’ are now being monitored. Abuse of the booking system may result in the suspension of your booking and/or playing rights. You may be charged in the event of a no-show.
5. South Ayrshire Council may suspend or remove the booking rights of individuals who do not adhere to the Terms and Conditions of Membership or General Rules applicable to all courses.


All members have golfer insurance to play on our courses. Golfers must report all incidents/accidents to a member of staff immediately. Failure to do so may invalidate your claim and/or insurance.

You have the right to cancel your membership within 14 days from the day after the service starts. However, you will be obliged to pay for any service you have used during the cancellation period.

You may be able to terminate this agreement if you are unable to use your membership through serious illness or injury, loss of employment or have to relocate. (We will require reasonable evidence of a change in circumstance).

Any unpaid balances will be due to South Ayrshire Council and will be invoiced through the Councils Debtors system.
