LEISURE CARD SCHEME

South Ayrshire Council operates a concessions scheme, offering reduced cost leisure for South Ayrshire residents who qualify through the conditions of the Scheme. Leisure cards can be obtained from swimming pools and Burns House at a cost of £1.00. Proof of eligibility and a passport sized photograph are also required. For full details contact any of the issuing facilities.

The Leisure Card Scheme is only available to persons residing within the South Ayrshire boundary who can verify eligibility for at least one of the categories shown below.

In receipt of Income Support	Appropriate Order Book from DSS or current Bank Statements indicating payments from DSS or letter of entitlement	6 Months
In receipt of Incapacity Benefit	Award Letter or Current Bank Statements indicating payments from DSS	6 Months
In receipt of Disability Benefit	Award Letter or Current Bank Statements indicating payments from DSS	6 Months
Residents engaged in Employment Training Schemes	Letter from Employment Service + Proof of Address	6 Months
Residents on Skillseekers Scheme, or those registered for and awaiting placement in a Skillseekers Scheme	Letter from Employer or Careers Office + Proof of Address	6 Months
In receipt of Housing Benefit	Determination Letter detailing period of eligibility	6 Months
Residents who are full-time Students	Student Grant/Loan Letter + Proof of Address	6 Months
Residents who are School Pupils in Secondary Education and are 17 years or over	Letter from School attended + Proof of Address	6 Months
In receipt of Severe Disability Allowance	Award letter or Bank statement indicating payments from DSS	2 Years
Children of L/card holders who are under 17 years of age and in full-time education, or of pre-school age. (Pools Only)	Accompanied by Legal Guardian with valid Leisurecard + Child Benefit Book or Award Letter	6 Months
Disabled Children under 17 years of age (Pools Only)	Disability Living Allowance* + Proof of Address	6 Months
In receipt of Working Tax Credit	Determination Letter detailing period of eligibility + Wage Slip/Bank Statement	6 Months
In receipt of Widows State Pension	Appropriate Order Book from DSS or current bank statements indicating payments from DSS	6 Months
In receipt of Disablement War Pension (if invalidity is 80% or over)	Appropriate documentation from War Pension Authority + Proof of Address	2 Years
In receipt of Council Tax Rebate	Council Tax Rebate will show rebate eligibility	6 Months
In receipt of Invalid Care Allowance	Award Letter or Bank Statement indicating Payments from DSS	6 Months

Notes on Verification to be Shown:

The DSS has had a change of name. It is now the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP). There may also be a reference on the documentation to Jobcentre Plus or the Pensions Agency, depending on the circumstances, but DWP is the main department.
Acceptable Proofs of Address include: Driving Licence, Gas/Electricity/Water/Rates, etc. bills, bank Statements

N.B. The spouses of Leisure Card Holders are eligible for a leisure card if they are not wage earners.
