CONDITIONS OF ENTRY

The Tournament shall be played over Troon Darley, Lochgreen and Fullarton Golf Courses and is open to all golfers aged 8 years and over and under the age of 18.

All competitors shall be of amateur status as defined by the Royal and Ancient Golf Club of St.Andrews.

All competitors must be in possession of a current golf handicap under the 1983 C.O.N.G.U. SSS and Handicapping Scheme on the date of the Tournament. The maximum handicap is 28, competitors with a higher handicap are welcome to enter but will be required to play off 28.

The maximum number of competitors is limited to 150 on each golf course. In the event of an over-entry, numbers shall be reduced on a first come basis by date of receipt of entry.

All entries are subject to the approval of the Organising Committee, who retain the right to refuse or accept any entry and shall not be called upon to give any reason for their action.

Completed entries must be sent to Events Section, 5th Floor, Burns House, Burns Statue Square, Ayr, KA7 1UT, accompanied by the entry fee. All cheques/postal orders should be made payable to ‘South Ayrshire Council’. Entries close Tuesday 22nd July 2008.

In the event of a competitor having to scratch the entry fee will not be refunded.

Scratchings, at any time, must be confirmed in writing. After the Tournament begins, scratchings will be permitted only in certain circumstances and on explanation to the Organising Committee.

Non-compliance may result in any entry not being accepted in future years.
CONDITIONS OF PLAY
The Tournament shall be played in accordance with the Rules of Golf as approved by the Royal and Ancient Golf Club of St. Andrews and in accordance with the Local Rules governing the golf course over which the event is being played.

Only those golf balls published on the current list of conforming golf balls issued by the Royal and Ancient Golf Club of St. Andrews may be used in this Tournament.

The Tournament will be under the charge of the Organising Committee to whom all disputes will be referred and whose decision shall be final. The Organising Committee reserves the right to amend the conditions of the Tournament.

No caddies will be permitted. Parents/guardians may not influence or advise competitors on the golf course and are also discouraged from walking around the course in their son or daughters group.

Motorised golf trolleys and vehicles shall not be permitted for use during this Tournament, unless specifically authorised by the Organising Committee.

No course changes will be made due to increase / decrease in handicap. All competitors shall play as shown in the draw.

The competition shall comprise 18 holes Strokeplay, taking place over one day. In the event of any tie, the winner shall be decided on the better inward half. If still tied, the winner shall be decided on the last six, three, two or one holes.

There will be a minimum of three handicap sections for boys and two for girls. A range of prizes shall be awarded for scratch and net categories in each section.

Prizewinners’ handicaps may be verified with his or her home club.
The winners of the Tom Lehman Trophies shall be the male and the female competitor returning the lowest gross score in the respective principle competition.

Prizewinners shall be expected to attend the presentation, which shall be held shortly after the completion of the final game.
REGISTRATION
Competitors are requested to register with the official starter for the respective golf course on which they will play at least 20 minutes prior to their tee-off time.

Handicap verification from the secretary of the competitor’s home club may be required at registration.
